A Marvel parece estar mesmo investindo no público gay. Hmm. Vejamos. Depois do casal gay na capa de Homem-Aranha (veja aqui), agora a editora surpreende com o anúncio do lançamento da revista solo do Estrela Polar (a bichinha caruda aí ao lado).
O mais legal é que o título será escrito por um roteirista assumidamente homossexual, o Jim McCann. O cara já trabalhou num monte de títulos da Marvel, inclusive em Young Avengers, que tem um casal gay fofo.
O Estrela Polar é um membro dos X-Men e é assumidíssimo - já deu em cima do Gambit e vive jogando na cara dos outros o orgulho que sente em ser gay.
A revista será um one-shot (edição única, especial), mas a editora já declarou que se as vendas forem boas, corre-se o risco do herói ganhar uma série própria. Assim, o Estrela se tornaria não só o primeiro herói gay da Marvel como também o primeiro título voltado para o público gay da editora.
Eu acho super válida a iniciativa. E o que eu mais gosto de saber é que o título será escrito por um gay, porque isso dá ainda mais credibilidade pra coisa. Porque vai rolar um cuidado maior com a produção, já que ele escreverá sobre um universo que lhe é familiar, e não somente uma visão externa daquilo.
Torço muito pra que as vendas sejam grandes, para que se torne um título regular. Será que um dia a Panini publica isso no Brasil?

O Jim McCann escreveu "Young Avengers" (pois o casal gay "fofo" são Wiccano e Hulkling), e não "New Avengers" como vcs escreveram.
O Estrela Polar dava em cima do Homem-de-Gelo, não do Gambit.
